Shibuya Startups Announces Initial Lineup of 11 Companies
シブヤスタートアップス株式会社、支援先企業として国内外11社を採択
Established in February 2023 as a unique collaboration between Shibuya City, Tokyu Corporation, Tokyu Land Corporation, and GMO Internet Group to create and foster an international startup community in Shibuya, The UP by Shibuya Startup Support program seeks early-stage startups from around the world that address issues important in Shibuya, such as aging society, anime/game IPs, natural disasters, dining and nightlife, and fashion and street culture. Startups selected for this project will receive support from the Shibuya Startup Support community and services.
In August 2023, they announced their inaugural lineup of 11 handpicked global startups.
シブヤスタートアップス株式会社（以下、シブヤスタートアップス）は、初となるコミュニティー・メンバーとして国内外のスタートアップ11社を採択したと2023年8月22日に発表しました。同社は、渋谷区、東急株式会社、東急不動産株式会社、GMOインターネットグループ株式会社が出資し、渋谷に国際的なスタートアップ・コミュニティーを誕生させ、育むことを目的に2023年2月に設立されました。また今回の11社の採択に伴い、国際的なスタートアップに対し、日本市場でのグロース支援をする「UP by Shibuya Startup Support」プログラムを開始します。

・Camino Robotics (USA)
Camino Robotics is developing Camino, the world’s first smart walker to help older adults stay active. The Camino comes equipped with an AI system, automatic boost, and automatic brake. The AI allows the user to track and collect gait data, which helps to reduce the cost of care.
・Tellus You Care (USA)
Tellus You Care offers a unique service through a wireless device equipped with advanced sensor technology, designed to alert family members and caregivers about any changes in the health and safety of elderly individuals. It provides practical health information and peace of mind while preserving the privacy and independence of seniors.

・Camino Robotics, Inc.（アメリカ）
高齢者がよりアクティブに動き続けられるよう、歩行のサポートをする世界初のスマートウォーカー「Camino」を開発しています。スマートウォーカー「Camino」は、電動歩行補助と自動ブレーキに加え、スマートAIが搭載されています。スマートAIの搭載により、ユーザーの安定性追跡、歩行データ収集を可能にし、介護コストの削減に繋げます。高齢者の快適な歩行をサポートすることにより、都会で暮らす高齢者の健康を促進することが期待され、採択されました。
・Tellus You Care, Inc.（アメリカ）
センサーを搭載した非接触型デバイスで、高齢者の健康状態や安全性に変化があった場合に家族や介護者に通知するサービスを提供しています。このサービスは、高齢者のプライバシーと自立性を守りながら、実用的な健康情報と安心感を提供すること目指し開発されました。都会で生活する高齢者の見守り・健康増進に貢献することが期待され、採択されました。
・TOTEMO (Japan)
TOTEMO offers the world’s first street art focused NFT platform. Its goal is to establish a new economic ecosystem and provide more opportunities for artists by turning temporary street art and graphic art into NFTs. Street art and graphic art are often confined to specific locations and damaged by weather. TOTEMO is expected to support Shibuya’s thriving street art scene.
・Logcast AB (Sweden)
Logcast AB offers a platform that connects digital characters such as VTubers and anime characters with fans through virtual conversations. This initiative both fosters innovation and helps spread Japanese culture worldwide, since Japan is one of the largest markets for VTubers and anime culture, particularly in Shibuya.
・STAYGE Labs (South Korea)
STAYGE Labs provides a platform to connect artists and fans online and encourage fan engagement around the world. Their Meet Plus app is a global platform that connects K-pop artists and fans. They also offer the Presented.LIVE, a live-event service, and the youmeOn interactive streaming platform.
・8glabs (USA)
8glabs are the makers of Image App, a platform that uses AI to generate images and videos based on text input. It is expected to support Shibuya’s thriving music scene by supporting young artists in creating AI-related videos such as music videos and short videos.
・Callback (Japan)
Callback assists brands in adopting Web3 and offers a platform for next-generation community building. It brings Web3 closer to businesses, creators, and users via the platform, mobile apps, and the Callback wallet, based on NFT technology.
・Totemo株式会社（日本）
ストリートアートに特化した世界初のNFTプラットフォーム「TOTEMO」を提供しています。作品の移動が難しく、風雨による劣化や周辺環境の変化で視認性が変わるなど、極めて一時的なものであることが多いストリートアートやグラフィックアートを、NFT化して流通させることで新たな経済圏の確立、クリエーターの活動領域拡大を目指しています。渋谷区のストリートアートのNFT化により、アーティストのサポートできることが期待され、採択されました。
・Logcast AB（スウェーデン）
VTuber、アニメのキャラクター、ゲームのキャラクターなどのデジタルキャラクターが音声会話を通じてファンと交流できるプラットフォームを提供しています。日本はVTuber、アニメの最大市場であることから、文化発信基地である渋谷と連携することで、日本文化の世界発信に寄与することが期待され、採択されました。
・STAYGE Labs（大韓民国）
アーティストとファンをオンラインで結びつけ、アーティストの持続的な活動をサポートし、世界中のファン活動を促進するプラットフォームを提供しています。K-POPアーティストとファンを繋ぐグローバルプラットフォームアプリ「Meet Plus」、ライブイベントプラットフォーム「Presented .LIVE」、インタラクティブストリーミングプラットフォーム「youmeOn」を展開しています。渋谷のアーティストと世界のファンを繋げられると期待され、採択されました。
・8glabs Inc（アメリカ）
ユーザーに適した画像や動画をテキスト入力でAIを活用して生成できるプラットフォーム「Imagine App」を提供しています。ミュージックビデオやショートビデオなど、若手アーティスト、インフルエンサー、Vtuberのビデオ作成をサポートします。音楽の聖地でもある渋谷の音楽シーンをより一層盛り上げると考えられ、採択されました。
・Callback株式会社（日本）
ブランドのWeb3導入のサポートし、次世代のコミュニティのためのプラットフォームを提供しています。NFTの作成・活用するプラットフォームやモバイルアプリ、Callbackウォレットを通じて企業やクリエーター、ユーザーにWeb3を身近に感じてもらう活動を行っています。スポーツやファッションなど渋谷が得意とする分野のコミュニティ形成に貢献すると考えられ、採択されました。
