12 Companies Have Been Selected for the Shibuya City Public-Private Partnership Open Innovation Project

Hello everyone. Under the slogan “New Normal for Shibuya,” we are calling for ideas (technologies and solutions) to solve post-Corona social issues. The plan is to select partnering startups and conduct proof-of-concept experiments through public-private partnership in order to implement them in society.

皆さんこんにちは。渋谷区では、「ニューノーマルを、渋谷から発信。」というスローガンのもと、コロナ以降の社会課題を具体的に解決できるテクノロジーやソリューションのアイデアをスタートアップの皆さんから募り、官民で連携しながら実証実験して社会実装につなげていくという取り組みをしています。

The first phase of the project, an open call for ideas, began this summer on June 25, 2020 (you can still apply from the page above), and so far 12 ideas have been selected from 90 applications, with several projects are already in the PoC phase for projects, workplaces, and employees within Shibuya City Office.
The call for applications is still ongoing, and we expect to announce the adoption of the second round in two months while we continue to look at the ideas not included in the announcement this time around. At present, most of these ideas are from domestic startups and research institutions, but we hope that overseas startups will also participate. その第一フェーズであるアイデアの公募をこの夏、2020年6月25日に開始（応募は上記ページから現在でも可能）、これまでに90件にもおよぶ応募の中から第一弾として12件を採択し、いくつかは区の事業、職場、職員などを対象とした実証実験のフェーズに入っています。
公募は現在も続行中で、今回の発表に含まれていないアイデアもあわせ引き続き調整しながら、2か月後をめどに第二弾の採択について公表する見込みです。現在のところ国内のスタートアップや研究機関がほとんどですが、海外スタートアップの皆さんにもご参加いただきたいと願っており、その支援もこのShibuya Startup Supportを通じておこないますのでぜひご相談ください。
